The Beginning...

The story of HABRAS (HAirBRAidingStudio) …is the story of a single stroll through the city.

Hello there! My name is Olga, and I’ve been living in Spain since 2014 The sun, the sea, white yachts, and magical sunrises - that’s the essence of my new home. When you live in the heart of such beauty, you can’t help but want to become a part of it - or even enhance it.

One day, as I wandered through the historic center of Alicante, I was, as always, soaking in the beauty of Mediterranean architecture. That’s when I stumbled upon an abandoned old customs building. It’s hard to say what captivated me - the thickness of the ancient walls, the solid wooden beams, the five - meter - high ceilings, or the antique carved furniture - but at that moment, I knew our destinies were entwined.

Fast forward through two years of complete immersion in construction, the dire condition of a space abandoned for over a decade, endless administrative hurdles, and even court battles. What matters is that today, these history - filled walls have found a new life.

Braids? Braids! And so much more…

Since childhood, I’ve loved braiding hair. It’s been my hobby, my way to relax and step away from life’s challenges, and my personal pursuit of beauty in this world. As far back as I can remember, I’ve been braiding hair - first my own, then my friends’, then their friends’, and eventually my beloved daughter’s. And I’ve always done it with joy.

Over time, I discovered I wasn’t alone. There are true masters out there who’ve elevated hair braiding to an art form. I also learned that for many people, braids - whether dreadlocks, twists, or box braids - are an essential part of their image. A safe and transformative way to express themselves, rediscover their identity, and shine in a whole new light.

So, I thought, why not create a space of our own? A club, a salon, a sanctuary for this shared passion. And now, I’m thrilled to welcome you to it!
